Baby Stars will provide a calm, nurturing, home from home environment for your baby. Ofsted have praised the management for providing such a cosy, calm place for young babies to thrive.
Newly refurbished in September 2021, the Baby unit consists of one large cosy room and kitchen and bathroom facilities all on one floor. The room provides a bright and airy home from home environment where all your little VIP’s needs will be catered for by highly experienced, caring staff, all with additional training in this area in addition to being paediatric first aid trained. We ensure that home feeding, play and sleep routines are followed and our key worker system ensures that we build close links to home life through directly working with and sharing information with parents. We know that key worker attachments play a vital role in your child’s early development and so every key worker is trained to pay close attention to meeting the individual needs of your child. Staff record daily routines and activities into your child’s daily diary so that every parent is kept up to date with their baby’s busy day in the baby unit. Photos and memorable moments are recorded and shared through the Nursery Story App. Key parenting tips and play ideas are also shared through the App. Parents get to chat on a daily basis about their child’s next steps for learning as we work together as a team in order to give your baby the best possible start in life. The room has a lovely selection of heuristically based toys and activities aimed at providing inquisitive minds with a multi sensory experience. Staff support children with an emphasis on the curriculum for babies being language rich with a gentle and nurturing approach to care. Sleeping cot facilities provide gentle white noise in the background as babies quickly and comfortably nap in line with home routines already established. Babies have regular access to fresh air through scheduled walks and trips to the Secret garden and beach in addition to time in our playground at quieter times.
CCTV security is in operation with video surveillance of the door entrance and a password entry system is used.
Breastfeeding mothers are most welcome to avail of the facilities on the baby unit floor.
