Baby Stars - Birth to twelve months.

Baby Stars provides a calm, nurturing environment for your baby to enjoy. Ofsted have praised the management for providing such a cosy, calm place for young babies to thrive.

The Baby unit occupies a whole floor level of Gable House and consists of 2 baby care rooms, a Parent & Baby room and kitchen and bathroom facilities. It is warm and cosy and provides a bright and airy home from home environment where  all your little VIP’s needs will be catered for by highly experienced, caring staff.  We ensure that home feeding, play and sleep routines are followed to ensure continuity for your baby. Cot and sleeping facilities are also provided. Staff record daily routines and activities  into your child’s daily diary  so that every parent is kept up to date with their baby’s busy day  in the baby unit.

CCTV security is in operation with video surveillance of the door entrance and a password entry system is used.
We  provide a parent and baby room where parents and family members are welcome to spend  time with their baby on lunch breaks etc.  Breastfeeding mothers are most welcome to avail of the facilities offered by this room also.  In addition to this room, parents are free to use  our kitchen and bathroom facilities and can enjoy hot and cold refreshments free of charge.

The staff ratio in baby stars is one adult to 3 children. We believe  that babies have a need to develop through stimulation and interaction with people and the world around them and we have a range of stimulating and sensory equipment to meet their  individual needs.

Around the usual feeding, changing and sleeping routines, we have a wide selection of  toys and activities for your baby to enjoy. This includes messy play ,creative play, circle time with song, movement and dance.  All activities provide the opportunity for learning social skills and making friends from an early age,  while at the same time ensure that the  developmental needs of each child are met.

You will develop a close relationship with the baby unit staff  because we believe that working in partnership  with parents and carers  is essential for the happiness of every child. By monitoring and recording your baby’s development  we can discuss  their progress on a daily basis with you and record each days events in our daily diaries for parents to take home and read.. Our home link books ensure that parents can read about their baby’s busy day at nursery. We operate a key worker system for each child which is especially important considering the bonding needs of babies. As the child develops and moves to the toddler room, the key worker will spend time each day making sure he or she is settled and happy before assigning them to their next key worker.

The quality of care which we provide is of paramount importance to us and the management of Gable House use a rigorous self evaluation process to ensure that the standard of care we provide for your child is second to none.
